CITIZEN COMPLAINT

The goal of the Huntington Park Police Department is to provide a personalized quality of service that emphasizes the spirit of excellence in the accomplishment of that service with integrity and compassion. To help us identify problems in providing this kind of service, your input is important. Input regarding possible misconduct may be provided via the complaint process.

Procedure
If you feel a member of the Huntington Park Police Department has performed a service in an unacceptable manner or is engaged in misconduct and you would like to file a citizen complaint, you may:

  1. Call the on-duty Watch Commander, 24 hours a day, at (323) 826-6614 or (323) 826-6615
  2. Write a letter to: Huntington Park Police Department, Attn: Office of the Chief of Police, 6542 Miles Avenue, Huntington Park, CA 90255
  3. Come to the police station in person and speak directly with the on-duty Watch Commander
  4. File a formal, written, signed complaint. The Watch Commander or other police personnel will provide you with a form
  5. Complete Online Complaint Form

In order to complete a thorough investigation into your complaint, it is important to provide as many details as possible about the incident, including the date, time, location, witness’s names, addresses, and the name(s) of the involved police personnel, if known.

We set an exceptionally high-performance standard for our personnel through input from those we serve. Feedback from community members regarding the service we provide is an important measuring tool to monitor our performance as an organization. If members of the Huntington Park Police Department have performed a service that deserves recognition, we want to know about it so the employee is recognized.

Procedure

  3. Come to the Police Department in person and speak to the Watch Commander.
  4. Complete the Online Compliment Form

Please include the date, time, and location of the incident, as well as the employee’s name, if known. Your recognition will be forwarded to the employee and his/her supervisors.
