Overview
The Huntington Park Police Department’s Community Police Academy will provide community members of Huntington Park an inside look at local law enforcement through an 8-week period. The program is designed to give them an overview of the police department’s functions; staff; responsibilities and operational procedures. The purpose of this program is to promote an understanding between the community and law enforcement through education and interaction with members of the Huntington Park Police Department.
During the 8-week curriculum, community members will be taught by police executives, police officers and civilian employees. The Academy meets once a week on Mondays from 08:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Police Department – Training Room (2nd Floor). At the conclusion of the course, a graduation ceremony is held. Participants receive a certificate of completion and have their photo taken with members of the police department.
